Many antibiotics are used to cure deadly infections for the past 75 years with no difficulty. Recent outbreaks of multi-drug resistant bacteria have caused millions of death every year and physicians do not know how to cure KPC2 Klebsiella kneumoniae, NDM1 Escherichia coli or MRSA Staphylococcus aureus and XDR Acinetobacter baumannii infections. Sadly once used ampicillin, streptomycin, azithromycin, tetracycline, and chlormphenicol are useless against those bacteria. A Cross-Sectional Study of Cephalosporin Prescriptions for the Treatment of Respiratory and Urinary Tract Infections in Two Sudanese Hospitals-Juniper Publishers

 Novel Approaches in Drug Designing & Development - Juniper publishers Abstract Cephalosporins representing a wide variety of β-lactam antibiotics. Cephalosporins have some desirable features, including a convenience of administration, a reasonably broad spectrum of efficacy and a low incidence of toxicity. A descriptive cross-sectional study on the usage of cephalosporin for the treatment of respiratory tract infections (RTI) and urinary tract infections (UTI) was conducted at Ibnsinaa and Alshaab Hospitals in Khartoum state. The data were acquired via questionnaires sent to doctors and community pharmacists, as well as 48 patient files with UTI and RTI diagnoses. SPSS was used to examine the data. The study’s findings indicated that 90% of physicians and pharmacists do not follow cephalosporin prescription and dispensing recommendations. 73% of cephalosporins (3rd generation) are used to treat UTI, whereas 54% of cephalosporins (2nd generation) are used to treat RTI. Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Calcification: A Case Report-Juniper Publishers

  JUNIPER PUBLISHERS - OPEN ACCESS JOURNAL OF DRUG DESIGNING & DEVELOPMENT Abstract Intervertebral disc calcification is an uncommon cause of spinal pain and really rare in lumbar disc levels. The certain etiology still remains uncertain. Most of cases are asymptomatic and are diagnosed incidentally in routine scanning or during evaluation of non-specific clinical complaints. A 63-year-old male presented with waist and both legs pain. There was no definite history of trauma or infection. Imaging of the lumbar spine showed calcification of the intervertebral disc at L1-2 level. The patient was kept on medical therapy. The complaints showed near-complete resolution on 3-month follow-up.
